Geography & Ecology
The landscape of Gangotri National Park changes dramatically with altitude. Lower elevations are covered with thick forests of deodar, pine, spruce, fir, and oak. As altitude increases, the terrain transforms into alpine meadows, rocky cliffs, snowfields, and glaciers.
