Visitors must book their free tickets online before visiting.
Forest Minister R. V. Ranjithkumar said that all ticket expenses will be covered by his family trust, so the zoos will not lose any money. He also said that special arrangements are being made to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable visit.
Since many people are expected to visit Vandalur Zoo, the Forest Department has decided to limit online tickets to 50,000 visitors per day. This will help prevent overcrowding and keep both visitors and animals comfortable.
Zoo officials are also planning extra safety measures, especially for June 22, when the largest crowds are expected.
The Children’s Park at Guindy will not be part of the free-entry programme because of limited space.
As part of the celebrations, the Forest Department will also plant 52,000 tree saplings in Kancheepuram district on June 22. This special activity aims to make the environment greener and healthier for future generations.
So, if you love animals and nature, this is a great opportunity to enjoy a fun day at the zoo with your family!
