Mudumalai National Park is one of the oldest wildlife sanctuaries in South India and forms part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve. Located in the Nilgiri Hills, the park is famous for its rich biodiversity, dense forests, elephants, Bengal tigers, leopards, Indian gaur, deer species, and over 250 species of birds. It shares boundaries with Bandipur National Park in Karnataka and Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary in Kerala, creating a large protected wildlife corridor.
