The Assam State Zoo cum Botanical Garden is the largest zoo in North-East India, located inside the Hengrabari Reserved Forest in Guwahati. Spread over about 432 acres, it is also known as the “Green Lung of Guwahati” due to its rich greenery and natural forest environment. Established in 1958, the zoo is home to hundreds of animal, bird, and reptile species along with a well-developed botanical garden, making it both a conservation centre and a popular tourist attraction
