Phawngpui National Park, also known as the Blue Mountain National Park, is one of the most scenic protected areas in Northeast India. Located in southern Mizoram near the Myanmar border, the park surrounds Phawngpui Peak, the highest mountain in Mizoram at about 2,157 meters above sea level. The park was established in 1992 and spreads across approximately 50 sq km.

The name “Phawngpui” means “Great Meadow” in the local Lai dialect. The mountain often appears blue due to mist and cloud cover, giving rise to the nickname “Blue Mountain.” The park is famous for its dramatic cliffs, rolling grasslands, orchids, rhododendrons, and rare wildlife.
